Pixi Best of Bright Review

PIXI The Best of Bright

Because I’m always on-the-go these past months (and the coming months), I prefer getting travel-size products. I’ve heard a lot good review about Pixi products especially their skincare line. Also, because I’m new to Pixi, getting this set is perfect for me so I can try if these products are the real deal. The Best of Bright set has been sold out in SM Makati since December, luckily, when I passed by Landmark it’s still available. I bought this set for only โ‚ฑ1250.00 ($24.00), which is cheaper than the price online.

PIXI The Best of Bright set
PIXI The Best of Bright set contains travel sizes of Glow Mud Cleanser, Glow Tonic and Glow Mud Mask.

Product description: This essential travel trio gives brighter, clearer skin in 3 quick steps! Remove impurities with deeply purifying Glow Mud Cleanser, gently exfoliate & brighten with famous Glow Tonic, and detoxify with Glow Mud Mask.

Glycolic acid is the main ingredient in the first two products of the set. So what exactly is glycolic acid? Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, commonly found in various skin care, anti-ageing products and chemical peels due to it’s exfoliating and anti-acne properties.

Note: Because of its exfoliating properties making the skin more sensitive, it’s is important to use sunscreen when using these products containing glycolic acid.

Glow Mud Cleanser (15ml)

This exfoliating cleanser contains 5% glycolic acid as well as hyaluronic acid, aloe vera and avocado oil. It’s a mud formula, so expect no foam when lathering this product. The scent is aloe vera, which I’m not a fan of. Instructions are to apply a coin size of the product to be used in AM and PM daily. IMHO, I’m not really impressed with this product, it did not provide the deep cleansing and refreshing feel I’m looking for in a cleanser.

Glow Tonic (40ml)

PIXI Glow Tonic

I’ve been always curious about Glow Tonic with the hype and all. It’s an exfoliating toner with 5% glycolic acid intended to be used in AM & PM or as needed. Although I’m not keen on the smell of the Glow Tonic like the mud cleanser, I love the fact that it doesn’t dry my skin, unlike other toners. After using this for weeks I realized why this cleanser is a cult favourite! It really did clear and brighten my skin. A lot of times I don’t apply foundation anymore, I just put on concealer under my eyes for my dark circles and finish it with a loose powder then I’m done. That’s how amazing this Glow Tonic is.

Glow Mud Mask (15ml)

This is the reason why I bought this set. I applied a tester of this product on the back of my palm leaving it for a couple of minutes. After rinsing the mask off, my skin felt really smooth and soft that I had to go back to the department store to buy the set. This pore clearing treatment mask is intended to be used 2 to 3 times per week. It removes oil and impurities leaving the skin soft and exfoliated.

Final thoughts: Would I repurchase the whole set? Probably not. This set is recommended if you would like to try Pixi products. But if I have to choose between the three products, I would definitely repurchase the Glow Tonic, hands down. I’m also impressed with the Glow Mud Mask, but at the meantime, I’d probably try other masks like the popular Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay.

I would like to try Pixi makeup next, let me know your thoughts and recommendations! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • The glycolic acid in this product is only 5% (which is lower than other products) but still, I don’t use this every day (4-5x per week) because I’m worried that it will irritate my skin. Thanks for reading my post! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I’ve been wanting to try the Glow Tonic for so long! I feel like I need to just bite the bullet and get it!
