L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara Review

I’m not a fan of mascaras because I already accepted that my short, straight and stubborn lashes are hopeless. Even the cult fave Shu Uemura curlers can only provide a temporary fix for my lashes. Although I wasn’t blessed with long and full lashes, I rely on falsies when I needed the extra drama. But there are days that I don’t have much time to put on false eyelashes that’s the time I resort to mascara. My favourite mascara is Lancôme Définicils High Definition Mascara. As for drugstore mascara, I haven’t found the right one. I have tried some but it did not work for me. It only end up in my shelf only to be disposed after a few months when it have dried up.

There has been a hype over the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara last year and also early this year when Lash Paradise was finally available in the Philippine Market. I got curious so I picked up one: the Waterproof Blackest Black during a trip to the department store.

Product Description: Take your lashes to paradise! Our 1st mascara for volume & length. Soft wavy bristle brush holds maximum formula for a dramatic volumizing charge. 200+ bristles catch every lash for a full fringe effect. Smooth glide formula provides silky volume in one coat. Lashes are feathery soft to the touch. Women agreed: 91% saw intense & volumized lashes and 87% saw more beautiful lashes. +98% lengthening effect.

Packaging: The packaging is really pretty; it comes in a light pink tube with gold detail. It closely resembles the packaging of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. On closer look, the gold detail and some of the labels in this tube look as if it will fade anytime soon.

Performance: This mascara has a big hourglass-shaped brush that provides an easy application. The formula is lightweight, not too wet and dries easily. Two coats of this mascara are all I need to give my lashes volume and definition. Also, I loved the fact that it doesn’t make lashes clump together (even if I overdo it with 3-4 coats).

Staying Power: This mascara is really long lasting. After wearing it the whole day it did not smudge or flake! It managed to keep my lashes curled all day. This waterproof version is difficult to remove especially if you’ll be using just micellar water. I leave the job to my cleansing oil.

Price and Availability: L’Oreal Lash Paradise is finally available early this year here in the Philippines. It’s really cheap, you can buy this for P500 both stores and online sellers. I purchased mine while it was on sale at SM Department store for only P390 (the sale runs until the end of June).

Final Thoughts:  For a drugstore mascara, the Lash Paradise Mascara is really impressive as it performs like a high-end mascara. I would recommend this if you’re looking for a good and affordable mascara. I haven’t tried the Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara so I don’t know if this can be a dupe for it.

  1. I like to agree with you that I feel that Loreal and too faced mascara is overhyped. A friend told me to try also faced mascara, and I did. There’s nothing wrong with it, but I thought I liked it, but I didn’t. I used to use CoverGirl mascara (the orange packaging), but I made the switch to tarte splashes mascara and never found one to match up with to it. I never really tried Lancome mascara but maybe I should bc it seems like I would like it.

  2. […] I’m more of a nude eyeshadow kind of girl but I thought that this trip was the right opportunity to use warm toned shadows. ColourPop Take Me Home Eyeshadow (review) is perfect since the warm colours are not too dramatic and the size of this palette is good for travelling. I then finished my eye makeup with a brown eyeliner, TonyMoly Back Gel BT Supreme Matte Liner (review) and a waterproof mascara, L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara  (review). […]
