Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream Review

I have seen this fancy blue cream all over the internet especially in the AsianBeauty Community and it got me really curious. At that time I was looking for a night-time moisturiser, and although this was supposed to be a calming cream I thought that this might pass as a good moisturizer, hence an order was placed.

Product Description: A gentle spot treatment cream that provides comfort to rapidly calm & soothe sensitivity. Powered by nature, its star ingredients are Guaiazulene, a natural component extracted from chamomile oil, which carries powerful skin calming abilities, and Centella Asiatica, which helps hydrate and relieve redness.

Packaging:  This is probably one of the most photogenic creams I’ve seen.  It’s popular in #ABcommunity and #TextureTuesdays posts on Instagram. Who couldn’t resist on photographing the elegant glass packaging and the periwinkle colour of this cream? Also, this comes with a nice spatula for application.

Texture/Performance: The cream’s silky and glossy texture glides very easily across the face. I apply this at night as a finale of my skincare routine. After application, this cream dries quickly into a light-weight film. I didn’t like the scent TBH and I’m not sure what it was supposed to smell like (I don’t exactly know the scent of Guaiazulene). It works as a decent moisturizer;  I wake in the morning with baby soft skin.

Price/ Availability: Some reviews have commented that this is a bit pricey given the small amount of this cream (30ml). The price is mid-range at ₱1,280.00 ($24.00) but a small amount of product goes a long way.

Final Thoughts: Because I really liked the packaging and the colour of this cream I didn’t mind the reviews but they were right: it’s a decent cream, not very impressive / life changing / HG status. Keep in mind that this is meant to be a spot treatment cream than a moisturizer. I never had an irritated/ inflamed skin problem so I cannot assess the full potential of its calming abilities. But for the price, I could have bought a more hydrating, moisturizing cream more suitable for my skin type (a gel moisturizer I perhaps).
