What’s in my Travel Makeup Bag: Cambodia

If you read my previous post you already know that I visited Cambodia last month. The last time I went to Cambodia was eight years ago, but we only visited Phnom Penh and skipped Siem Reap. Of course, I have to come back for Angkor Wat. Given that it was raining hard the whole month of July in the Philippines, I’m not sure what to expect with regards to Cambodia’s weather.

Because I was there for only less than three days I only packed a few things. Most of the products I packed with me are my daily essentials. Here are the products I brought:

When we went to Phnom Penh years ago, the weather was bright and sunny that’s why I made sure I brought my trusted Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence (review). Of course, sunscreen is a must. I was also ready for Siem Reap’s humidity so I used my go-to drugstore foundation Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Combo/Oily Skin to keep my face shine-free for hours.

I’m more of a nude eyeshadow kind of girl but I thought that this trip was the right opportunity to use warm toned shadows. ColourPop Take Me Home Eyeshadow (reviewis perfect since the warm colours are not too dramatic and the size of this palette is good for travelling. I then finished my eye makeup with a brown eyeliner, TonyMoly Back Gel BT Supreme Matte Liner (review) and a waterproof mascara, L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara  (review).

I brought a lot of lipsticks with me but  I actually used only two the entire trip. They are two of my current fave nude shades: NARS Anita Audacious Lipstick, a warm pink with a cream finish, and Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte in Clay Crush, warm brown with a semi-matte finish.

As for blush, I used the NARS Orgasm Liquid Blush (reviewand layered it with the NARS Orgasm Pressed Powder Blush, to make it last the whole day.  To complement my warm toned eye makeup I finished it with a warm gold highlighter, Becca Prosecco Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed.

Unfortunately, I left the most important thing. No, it’s not my ticket or passport, it’s my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I was already on my way to the airport when I realised I left it. 😦

That’s all for now! How about you? What makeup do you bring when you go travelling? 🙂

Cambodia is on my bucket list! I’m a nude eyeshadow gal as well, I definitely want to check out the ColourPop Take Me Home Eyeshadow!

I’m sure you’ll love Cambodia! Thanks for reading! ☺️

  2. I’m not the makeup person but I always take with me my primer/sunscreen. Sun protection + slight imperfection correction = ❤

True! I can skip makeup but I can never skip sunscreen! ☺️

My Instagram wonderings were answered – I have a Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in a fuchsia pink. It was my first really colourful lipstick and my mum nearly got a heart attack when I bought it. Now nothing can shock her anymore :’)
What do you think of the Maybelline lipstick?

Oh and I have a question: How do you wear makeup without having it melt off of your face? It is so hot that I just gave up on trying… Help? 😉 I also really love your writing style! It is really pleasant to read. ❤

Oh I love the Maybelline creamy matte brown nudes! I have 3 lipsticks from this line (clay crush, nude nuance and touch of spice). The formula is creamy and longstaying but it can be drying so i put chapstick on top. Also it’s really cheap, it’s php 299 ($5.6) here and most of the time it’s on sale php 199 ($ 3.7)!

It’s hot and humid here in the Philippines so I’d usually use a longstaying foundation (Revlon Colorstay or Maybelline Fit Me). A liquid blush is also my bestfriend. I do use a setting spray when I have to put on heavy makeup. ☺

Thank you for your comment and the compliment regarding my blog! ☺

How’s the fuschia pink lippie? I really can’t pull off a bright pink lipstick 😔 Where are you from? Is it also hot and humid there?

It’s so hard to know what makeup to bring when I travel. I was in Costa Rica a few months ago and my skin flipped from extra dry to oily. None of my products worked for me because I brought only dewy & hydrating products 😅
