September Roundup: Naked Cherry, Life, The Mind of Jake Paul & more

Okay better late than never, here comes monthly roundup #3! So the holiday season is approaching and makeup brands are releasing new products like crazy. Boy, I’m so excited to make a holiday wishlist post! My schedule is hectic as usual since I do work in the hospital during weekends, but during my off-duty days I try to catch up on some series and YT videos.

Several brands dropped their Holiday palettes last month (and it was just September!) and now I’m confused on which of them I’m going to pick up. First to make a scene was Urban Decay. After news of discontinuing the original Naked palette, there came a leak from Instagram with regards to the upcoming Naked Cherry palette and everyone went crazy, including me. Then Too Faced released their Gingerbread Spice palette which looked oh so yummy! Come on, with a packaging like that, who could resist buying it? Colourpop also announced their collaboration with Disney and dropped their Disney Degisner Collection last September 28, few days after Anastasia Beverly Hills launched their smoky metallic palette Sultry.

Pass or purchase? Of course, I already purchased my Naked Cherry palette from Sephora PH, which I ordered when it was available online for 24 hrs only. I’m so excited to use it! I’ll definitely post a review soon! When the ”It’s a Princess Thing” Eyeshadow palette was announced, I was so sure that I’m going to pick this up because I love Colourpop’s pressed shadows and I love the price as well, but based on the reviews I’m seeing, I’m not so sure anymore. Next came Anastasia Beverly Hills latest palette, Sultry. A lot of vloggers/bloggers said that they will be skipping the Sultry palette but eventually they end up buying it and loving it. So let’s see if also end up buying this one. As for the Too Face Gingerbread Spice, I’m reserving it for the holidays, I’ll probably pick it up after the Halloween.

How about you, have you purchased any of these palettes? Let me know what you think! 🙂

From The Good Doctor (which is now adapted into a TV show in the US) to  Descendants of the Sun, to Doctors, I think it’s safe to say that Koreans are pretty good with medical drams. Now comes JTCB’S latest medical drama Life, a 16-episode series about power struggles in a University Hospital. Our favorite Grim Reaper from Goblin, Lee Dong-wook, ditches his all-black suit to scrubs suit, long coat and a stethoscope as he plays a fearless ER physician who’s not afraid to stand up against the ambitious Hospital Director, played by Cho Seung-woo.

I love the new concept of this medical drama as it focuses on the political and financial side of Medicine. I can very much relate to this series since I took my 3-year residency in a private hospital in Manila. Life is now streaming on Netflix.

What other medical dramas can you recommend? 🙂

Last month I raved about Shane Dawson’s series about Jeffree Star, and now he’s at it again. His latest series is about another controversial YouTuber, Jake Paul, and of course, it caused  a lot of stir. In The Mind of Jake Paul, Shane explores Jake’s psychology and his environment (friends, family and enemies) that will explain why he is the way he is. Several viewers swore that they will only watch the series because of Shane and promised that they won’t change their perception of Jake Paul no matter what.

I’m no fan of the Paul brothers but like some of Shane’s followers I’m only watching this because Shane is such brilliant content creator; his concept and editing skills are by far the best I’ve seen in YouTube.

Have you watched Shane’s new doc series?
