How’s your summer so far? Me, I am spending it really well with a couple of out of towns and trips to the beach. Also, I have been trying (and loving) new make-up and skincare, most of them are Korean products. So here’s what’s inside of my summer bag..
MAKEUP
In terms of makeup, I wanted to be as minimalist as possible this season. The more natural looking and the lesser products are, the better. Because it’s summer I prefer products that are waterproof, sweat-proof that last all day. Who likes doing touch ups when they’re out enjoying the sun?
Eyebrows
Aren’t you tired of those so-called “Instagram’ eyebrows (which looks so fake IMHO)? Well, I am. I want a natural looking eyebrows, something just to softly fill in my brows. I finally picked up the K-PALETTE Lasting Eyebrow Tint Pen in Natural Brown. This was recommended to me a long time ago but when I swatched I thought it was too light for me. I gave it another shot recently and holy smokes–this was the perfect eyebrow product for me! Natural looking brows are achieved! Yup, I think it’s time to say goodbye to pencils and pomades, I’m switching to this brow product.

Another brow product I recently discovered is Sunnies Lifebrow Grooming Gel in Warm Brown, it’s a handy brow gel that keeps my eyebrows in place. Easy and precise application is provided by the tiny slim brush that I love so much.
Blush
Last month Sunnies Face released their new product, the Airblush and as usual, there was this buzz again with their latest release. This sheer cheek tint can be a dupe for 3CE Take A Layer Multi Pot, a multi-use eye, lip and cheek product with an airy matte finish. I have my 3CE pots in Primula (reddish violet) and Diotima (beige with a drop of apricot). For cream blush, this Korean product exceeds expectations in terms of pigment and longevity. Because the Diotima is a bit light for me and it doesn’t really pop out my cheeks so I decided to get the Sunnies Face Airblush in Moon (toasty rose). It’s not as pigmented (because it is a sheer blush) but I am really in love with this shade; it goes really well with my sunkissed skin. Also, in terms of staying power, it’s not as bad as some reviews say (at least for this shade). It actually lasted longer than I expected.

Foundation
My go-to foundation right now is The Face Shop Waterproof Cushion SPF50+ PA+++(review). It’s a lightweight cushion foundation that lasts all day. Also, it is waterproof and sweat-proof, so I love bringing this to my beach trips.
Lips
Peripera has released several versions of their ink airy velvet and their latest is the Peripera Ink Airy Velvet 2019 S/S. I was eyeing on the #03 Cartoon Coral shade but unfortunately, it was out of stock so I bought the 04 Pretty Pink instead. Their new packaging is prettier than the original but the formula is almost the same: pigmented with airy texture that lasts the whole day.
SKIN CARE
The sun can be really harsh this season so sun protection is always my skincare priority. Aside from sunscreen, products with hydrating and brightening effects are my must-haves for this summer.

Sunscreen
So lately I’ve been trying this Korean sunscreen, Missha All Around Safe Block Waterproof Sun Milk. It is a waterproof sunscreen that has a velvet, semi-matte finish, making this very suitable if you are going to the beach or doing a lot of outdoor activities.
Toner
I love anything that is citrusy so I got really excited with the release of PIXI Vitamin-C Tonic. This product is a gentle toner that contains Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid that claims to brighten the skin. It’s not as potent as Vitamin C serums and not as life-changing as the Glow Tonic but I do enjoy the citrus scent and the refreshing feeling it provides.
Essence
Another late discovery of mine is SK II’s dupe, Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence (Rose Edition). It contains rose water and 94% of Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, which claims to moisturize, brighten and improve the elasticity of the skin. If you want to achieve ‘chok chok’ glass skin without breaking the bank, then I would recommend this essence. I love splashing this on my face in my morning routine as it makes my face feel hydrated and supple.
