Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water Review

For the past year, I have been a cleansing oil convert. I love micellar water but there’s something about the “thorough clean feeling’ only cleansing oil can provide. But then again cleansing oils are not perfect, most of them cannot remove my waterproof mascara. And when I try to make them work by rubbing my eyes with a cleansing oil, I only get red, irritated eyes.

Product Description: Thanks to its efficient makeup removing formula, with micelles and argan oil, this biphase Micellar Water captures and lifts away dirt, impurities and longwear makeup leaving dry skin perfectly clean, soothed without overdrying and no oily finish. Suitable for sensitive skin.

DIRECTIONS: Shake to activate by mixing both layers. Saturate a cotton pad, apply onto face, eyes and lips and gently wipe without rubbing. Use daily, AM/PM.

Packaging: The packaging looks like the regular micellar waters, straight up clear bottle with no fancy gimmicks.

Ingredients: Benzyl salicylate, Ethylhexyl salicylate and fragrances such as (Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool) that are rated 6-7 safety index based on CosDNA.

Performance: This micellar water performs well in terms of removing water eyeliner and mascara, but after using it for quite some time I noticed that this product broke me out. At first, I was in denial because I want to like this product but the more I used it, the more bumps started to appear. It was not long before I convinced myself that I have to stop using this product. I realized that it wasn’t just me, in YT beauty vlogger James Welsh also mention in his vlog that it this micellar broke him out like crazy, so yeah I wasn’t the only one.

Price/ Availability: This micellar water is such a steal, you can buy this for 149 for 125ml and 349 for 400ml. Another great thing about this is it’s easily accessible; you can purchase this in the department stores, drug stores and even in the grocery.

*Story Time: During my Bali trip last year, I forgot to check in this micellar water (125ml) so when I got to Changi Airport they disposed of it immediately. I was like, ok it only cost P149. So when I arrived at Bali, we made a stopover at a minimart and I found a 50ml bottle of this micellar water. It was the perfect size for travelling! I could conveniently bring this when I’m on duty and also easily have this small bottle refilled.

Final Thoughts: For the price point, its performance in removing dirt and waterproof eye makeup exceeds expectations, no wonder it’s being raved by beauty gurus. However, the MAJOR setback is that I had breakouts with this micellar water, so I decided to stop using this as regular micellar water. I still use this though as an eye makeup remover for my waterproof eyeliner and mascara.
