Last month, I went on a short trip to Sydney for my cousin’s wedding in Hunter Valley. It was already Autumn in Sydney; the days were still hot and humid while the nights were cool and windy. Because it was just a short visit I tried to pack only the essential stuff. So here’s what’s in my travel bag:
First of all, I brought my new sunscreen COSRX Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun SPF 50+ PA+++ (review) for me to try and test it under the Australian weather. I also brought my Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Hydrating Primerhowever I was not really reaching for it that much during my trip. For foundation, I can not live without my latest holy grail, the MARC JACOBS BEAUTY Shameless Youthful-Look 24H Foundation SPF 25. It’s just soooo good; it’s lightweight and it feels so natural.
So here’s the tea.. me and my boyfriend broke up after I got back from my trip to Australia. I hate to admit it but I cried incessantly for days following the breakup. (So much for sharing my personal life haha). There’s no use in denying my sobbing episodes because my eyes got really, really swollen and puffy. It was very timely that Benton had sent this tub of Hydrogel Eye patch for me to try.
Product Description: Snail Bee Ultimate Hydrogel Eye Patch hydrates and nourished skin with Saccharomyces/Snail Secretion Infiltrate Ferment Filtrate, Bee Venom and seaweed extracts. The hydrogel eye patch vitalizes and refreshes skin, living the eye area bright and supple.
G’day, mate! I just got back from my trip from Sydney and also from my major hiatus from the blogging world. I got really busy after my European trip late last year that I was not able to keep up with beauty blogging. I was about to abandon my blog, but then I realized even though I stopped posting for a long time I still got readers viewing some of my skincare reviews– so I think that’s a reason enough to continue blogging.
Summer is already here in the Philippines and I just got run out of my Biore sunscreen, so yeah I need to get a new one. I have been loyal to Biore for the past years so maybe it’s time to try out other sunscreens out in the market.
Essence-like light-weight texture!
Refresh your skin with snail mucin and rich humectant components which give the skin a petal-like, baby-skin soft finish.
The internet went crazy when @Trendmood1 posted a sneak peek of Urban Decay’s latest palette right after Urban Decay discontinued the original Naked palette. The leaked palette was said to be (only) from Thailand and at that time my sister was in Thailand so I asked her to buy me one from Shopee Thailand. But during that period, Urban Decay has yet to comment about the leaked palettes so I doubted about the authenticity and decided to wait until they officially release the Naked Cherry palette.
Few days after it was released in US Naked Cherry became available in Sephora PH. I immediately placed an order when it was available during an exclusive 24-hr ONLINE flash sale preview. The shipping took a bit longer since the palette came all the way from Singapore, but I have no complaints since I was able to use my 10% discount and I paid it through COD.
Product Description: Adorned with a row of metallic cherries, the crimson compact includes a full-size mirror and double-sided brush—ready for precision application on one end and seamless blending on the other. Whether you’re at the office, in between flights or getting ready at the apartment, Naked Cherry spices up everything from chill neutrals and sexy shimmers to super smoky eyes.
I am one of those people who used to believe that cleansing oils are not for oily people. I love micellar water too much that I never thought I’d be using other products to remove dirt and makeup until I have to remove most stubborn mascara ever. So I googled the best cleansing oil and based on several lists on the internet, I have encountered the Japanese brand DHC several times. An online store even pointed out that it’s the Holy Grail of cleansing oils. So maybe this is really something, let’s see…
Product Description: An olive oil–based facial cleanser that dissolves makeup thoroughly with zero residue. Its nutritive formula effortlessly breaks down stubborn, waterproof mascara and eyeliner and emulsifies into a cleansing milk when you rinse. Great for removing excess oil and sunscreen, it’s a daily must-have even if you don’t wear makeup. Your skin will feel soothed, refreshed, and balanced. One try is all you need to see why millions of women swear by it.
Okay better late than never, here comes monthly roundup #3! So the holiday season is approaching and makeup brands are releasing new products like crazy. Boy, I’m so excited to make a holiday wishlist post! My schedule is hectic as usual since I do work in the hospital during weekends, but during my off-duty days I try to catch up on some series and YT videos.
Several brands dropped their Holiday palettes last month (and it was just September!) and now I’m confused on which of them I’m going to pick up. First to make a scene was UrbanDecay. After news of discontinuing the original Naked palette, there came a leak from Instagram with regards to the upcoming NakedCherry palette and everyone went crazy, including me. Then Too Faced released their Gingerbread Spice palette which looked oh so yummy! Come on, with a packaging like that, who could resist buying it? Colourpop also announced their collaboration with Disney and dropped their Disney Degisner Collection last September 28, few days after Anastasia Beverly Hills launched their smoky metallic palette Sultry.
I first heard about Pyunkang Yul when Gothamista raved about it in her youtube channel. Not long after, I’ve started seeing a lot of that gorgeous blue plastic bottle packaging all over Instagram (I’m a sucker for blue packaging). I haven’t tried any of their products but I’ve heard a lot of positive reviews about it. Recently, they released their Acne Line and I was fortunate enough that StyleKorean picked me to try and review Pyunkang Yul’s new stuff.
The entire line is composed of the following:
Acne Facial Cleanser
Acne Spot Cream
Acne Dressing Mask Pack
For your reference: My skin type is oily and my face used to be acne-prone during my teens and early 20’s, good thing it already calmed down. Although my face cleared up, my acne on my back did not. I have tried cleansers and toners recommended by Dermatologists but my back acne never really went away.
