I first heard about Pyunkang Yul when Gothamista raved about it in her youtube channel. Not long after, I’ve started seeing a lot of that gorgeous blue glass bottle packaging all over Instagram (I’m a sucker for blue packaging). I haven’t tried any of their products but I’ve heard a lot of positive reviews about it. Recently, they released their Acne Line and I was fortunate enough that StyleKorean picked me to try and review Pyunkang Yul’s new stuff.
The entire line is composed of the following:
Acne Facial Cleanser
Acne Spot Cream
Acne Dressing Mask Pack
For your reference: My skin type is oily and my face used to be acne-prone during my teens and early 20’s, good thing it already calmed down. Although my face cleared up, my acne on my back did not. I have tried cleansers and toners recommended by Dermatologists but my back acne never really went away.
I was fortunate to be selected by Jolse to try and review the 302WHITE II Step Nano Melting Bio Mask. However, due to some issues, I received my package almost a month late. I was so excited to try the masks after PhilPost finally informed me that my package was already available for pick up.
Active Ingredient: The main ingredient of this product is Panax ginseng, a medicinal herb native from Korea and China that has been used for thousands of years. It has been known to have several uses for vitality, immune function, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, improvement of cognitive and physical performance and sexual function, thus the genus name, Panax(Pan=all + axos=medicine) means ‘cure all’ in Greek.1,2 Recent studies have reported that ginsenosides (an active compound found in ginseng) have anti-allergic effects and anti-inflammatory effects.3Panax ginseng is also known to promote collagen synthesis and suppress melanogenesis (hence lighten the skin).4Read More »
I have seen this fancy blue cream all over the internet especially in the AsianBeauty Community and it got me really curious. At that time I was looking for a night-time moisturiser, and although this was supposed to be a calming cream I thought that this might pass as a good moisturizer, hence an order was placed.
Product Description: A gentle spot treatment cream that provides comfort to rapidly calm & soothe sensitivity. Powered by nature, its star ingredients are Guaiazulene, a natural component extracted from chamomile oil, which carries powerful skin calming abilities, and Centella Asiatica, which helps hydrate and relieve redness.
Packaging: This is probably one of the most photogenic creams I’ve seen. It’s popular in #ABcommunity and #TextureTuesdays posts on Instagram. Who couldn’t resist on photographing the elegant glass packaging and the periwinkle colour of this cream? Also, this comes with a nice spatula for application.Read More »
Hello, guys, I’m back! My schedule is crazy, I’m mostly on duty during weekends and I have to recuperate during the weekdays, so basically I’m still adjusting to my new schedule. I do promise to keep up with my blog and follow a feasible blogging schedule.
This is actually an overdue post. I bought this lip and cheek tint last summer for my beach trip because I wanted to achieve a glowing orangey summer look. And since I love the brand The Face Shop I immediately purchased The Face Shop Watery Tint in 03 Orange Scene.Read More »
I love K-Beauty but I do not have the time for their 10 step skincare routine. But I do love their sheet masks; they’re cheap, effective and fun to use. When I was reviewing for my diplomate board exam, my idea of relaxation is a 15-minute sheet mask study-break while watching PONY syndrome make-up tutorials on YouTube. I did it every day for almost a month and boy my skin looked really great during the day of my exam. There are so many sheet masks in the market but these are my top picks:
#5 TONYMOLY I’m Real Makgeolli Mask Sheet Skin Purifying What it does: Makgeolli mask makes uneven skin tone look radiant and glowing. What I love about this: I love the I’m Real sheet masks collection from TonyMoly, especially their cute packaging. Makgeolli a.k.a. Korean rice wine contains amino acids and vitamins that supposedly help brighten the skin.Read More »
K-Beauty is really popular here in the Philippines but unfortunately, we still don’t have Innisfree stores here. I’ve always wanted to try Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder because of the good reviews it received. Vlogger Itsmyrayeraye even tried to bake using this powder in one of her videos (although it failed the flash photography test). I have really, really oily skin and the summer season and the humidity in Manila make it actually worse. So my sister got me this powder from Innisfree Singapore for S$ 10. You can buy this online in the Philipines, there a LOT of K-Beauty sellers online.
Packaging: It comes in a small round mint-green packaging with a puff. The tiny size is really convenient, you can easily fit it on your makeup kit, purse or pocket. I apply the powder using a brush that’s why I don’t use puff often. Some reviews say they didn’t like the packaging since it tends to be messy but I never experienced any spills with the packaging.Read More »
It’s summer here in the Philippines, and I just got back from my vacation from the Island of Bohol. It’s scorching hot there with a temperature of 32°C! Good thing I packed my beach/ summer essentials that made me survive the summer sun!
Sunplay Ultra Shield Lotion SPF130 PA++++ (S$17.20)
Because I knew I’ll spend the whole day on the beach basking in the sun, I chose a heavy-duty sunscreen with incredibly high SPF. This sunscreen comes in a small bottle, a perfect fit in my beach bag. What I love about this sunscreen is its formula: it’s lightweight and non-greasy! It’s a face and body sunscreen although I won’t recommend it for the face because it leaves uneven white casts.Read More »
